The FBI says it’s launching an inquiry parallel to a police homicide investigation as families demand a federal hate-crime investigation of three young Muslims allegedly slain by a North Carolina neighbor.
Muslim groups plan to press federal authorities for a hate-crime investigation by holding Friday prayers in front of the White House.
The FBI’s main North Carolina office said Thursday its preliminary inquiry seeks “to determine whether or not any federal laws were violated.” The FBI says it’s also continuing to help police in the college town of Chapel Hill process evidence.
Craig Stephen Hicks has been jailed on first-degree murder charges in the deaths.
The father of 21-year-old Yusor Abu-Salha and her sister, 19-year-old Razan Abu-Salha, says the neighbor killed them because they were Muslims. They were killed along with Yusor’s husband, Deah Barakat.

Why? If the press accounts are even marginally correct, he’s facing three counts of capital murder in a state with a death penalty. Even if he utterly loved them, premeditated murder is still murder. There really isn’t any reason to spend federal taxpayer dollars on the case.
Just like the folks that kill because they are muslim, these people were killed because there were muslim.

The reason for the federal investigation is that there may have been a federal law violated. Do the commenters here suggest that the law should not be enforced?
And yes, there is still discrimination against minorities in the US. Including Jews.
When a Muslim terrorist (Hasan), murdered 13 Christian Americans in Ft. Hood on 11/5/09, Mr. Obama called it, “workplace violence.” When a man murders three Muslims however, Mr. Obama and staff demand an investigation about targeting Muslims, in a possible terrorist attack.
