Far Rockaway: Hatzolah Member Returning From Call At 3AM Helps Apprehend 2 Suspects For Breaking Into Cars

r1Thanks to an alert Hatzolah member, along with the Rockaway Citizens Safety Patrol (Shomrim) and the NYPD, two suspects were arrested for breaking into a car in the heart of Far Rockaways Jewish community.

Sources tell YWN that the Hatzolah member was returning from a call at 3:00AM, when he spotted a black male entering a parked vehicle belonging to a local Jewish resident on Reeds Lane and Cornega Avenue. He observed the suspects rummaging through the car, taking items out, and fleeing on foot. He quickly called 911 as well as RCSP, and followed them at a safe distance in his vehicle. He gave both dispatchers detailed descriptions of both suspects, as well as their locations. Police and Shomrim responded immediately, and both suspects were safely apprehended – in front of the 101 Precinct – and taken into custody.

One of the perps taken into custody is known to police, and has been arrested in the past for breaking into vehicles in the Jewish community. In fact, two weeks ago, he broke into the vehicle of a Hatzolah members family and stole a woman’s hat. WHen he was arrested this morning, he was wearing the stolen hat (see attached photo).
