The closing of schools in the 40km range of the Gaza border has already saved many lives, last week in a 9th grade Beersheva classroom, a kindergarten, and most recently, on Monday, when an Ashdod kindergarten was hit in a rocket attack.

A Katyusha rocket slammed into a kindergarten situated in the heart of a populated area, and the scene was one of destruction. Chairs and other furniture destroyed — the facility was heavily damaged, particularly the area where the children spend most of their day.  Officials report that on a regular day, 32 children would have been in the building when the rocket struck.
