Air travel is expected to slowly resume at Newark Liberty International Airport after hundreds of flights were canceled due to Monday night’s snowstorm.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says flights will be operating from Newark on a limited basis Tuesday. Travelers are urged to check with their carrier for possible cancellations.
A few planes were seen departing during the morning. One traveler said he was looking for a shuttle to JFK Airport in New York to catch a flight there.
About 900 arrivals and departures had already been canceled at the airport as of early Tuesday morning. That represents about three-quarters of all scheduled flights.
