After talks with the Yachad party broke down, Otzma Yisrael party leader Dr. Michael Ben-Ari decided to run in the elections alone despite election polls showing he will not pass the minimum threshold.
The main stumbling blocks to signing an agreement with Eli Yishai’s party included the issue of Har Habayis and Ben-Ari’s insistence in receiving one of the first slots, when Yishai was willing to give him the sixth slot, which Yishai insisted was realistic for entering Knesset.
Otzma Yisrael on Monday 6 Shevat announced its lineup for the 20th Knesset elections; Dr. Michael Ben-Ari, Itamar Ben-Givir, Bentzion Gupstein and Baruch Marzel.
Party officials announced they plan to add additional names before the deadline, with the qualifications surrounding one’s commitment to Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael.
