Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Moshe Hager spoke with Galei Yisrael on Thursday 2 Shevat. Hager earlier in the week joined the list of the Yachad party, praising the merger of the Ashkenazi, Sephardi, chareidi and dati leumi worlds.
Rabbi Hager spoke about the role of dati leumi rabbonim, who he feels should be at the helm of these efforts, to bring the camps together to unite. He stressed the significance of IDF service and the pre-military yeshivos.
Rabbi Hager was asked if he is in the fifth place on the lineup as rumors indicate. He stated that to date, his position has not been discussed and for him it is less relevant. “I am interested in the process, not the position. This is a strategic move, like a start-up. The movement it gains momentum I will head back to education.
While Rabbi Hager explained he views his main role as an educator, he feels this is the time to enter into Knesset to meet the challenges from this new role.

Do you think Eli Yishai may not get into Knesset and thereby harm the right wing?
Rabbi H
This is the process we are in. there are many chareidim including Chabad and many dati leumi Jews who do not have a home, a political party that represents them. I believe that the polls will change and in time it will be seen that our party is required. I think if we all unite then we will pass the threshold for certain and work together.
When asked about a union with Otzma Yisrael, Rabbi Hager explained it is not his realm but in light of recent changes in the polls, he feels Eli Yishai may rethink the situation vis-à-vis Otzma Yisrael.
In an interview with Dr. Michael Ben-Ari a day earlier, Ben-Ari denied rumors that he does not want to align with Yishai. “I want to go with Yishai. I think it is he who does not want to go with me. He brings Rabbi Hager and others, but the main thing is not to align with me. I will bring him two seats and that is certain. I turned to him and then it is said I do not want to go with him”.

Where does Rabbi Hager stand in terms of battling oj all fronts for yahadus ?
p.s.Dr. Ben-Ari is a kahanist and might indeed drive more voters away than he would bring in.
Feiglin would be a better choice
