The electric mobility scooter that was used by Maran Rav Elyashiv ZT”L has been given to HaGaon HaRav Shalom Cohen Shlita, head of the Shas party Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael. The scooter was used by Rav Elyashiv for a number of years. It was given to Yad Sara Organization. It permitted the gadol hador to travel from his home to the nearby shul.
That scooter recently was given to Rav Cohen, who requires assistance getting around at times. Gabboim to Rav Cohen explain the scooter saves the rav a great deal of time.
One person close to Rav Cohen explains that he views it as closing a circle as the scooter served the leader of Litvish Ashkenazi community and now it serves the head of the Sephardi Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael.
