According to a Channel 2 News report, Dr. Michael Ben-Ari and Baruch Marzel met with HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz Shlita as the rav appears to be working to run on a combined ticket with Eli Yishai’s Ha’Am Itanu party. However, it is reported that Yishai is somewhat concerned, aware the two are portrayed as “right-wing extremists” by the media and this may result in a loss of votes.
While this may be the case, to date, latest polls show that Yishai does not earn more than three seats, one less than the minimum requirement to enter the 20th Knesset.
It is also reported that if they cannot reach agreement, they are trying to persuade Ben-Ari not to run independently, but there is little chance he will agree.
