Bayit Yehudi Closes Registration for the Party’s Primaries


benThe Bayit Yehudi party has closed registration for candidates in its upcoming primary elections. Shimon Ohr and incumbent Naftali Bennett are competing for the party’s leadership slot. 42 people have joined the list in the hope of being voted into a realistic slot on the party’s Knesset ticket. 11 of the candidates are women, two members of the Druse community and an Arab woman.

The election to select the party’s lineup will take place on Wednesday, 23 Teves. 77,000 registered party members will be eligible to cast their ballot in one of 260 polling stations in 119 areas nationwide. Each voter will place two slips of paper into an envelope, one for party leader and one for the list. Voters will have to mark off seven names; 3 names that will receive two points and 4 names that receive one point.
