While the storm fell short of predictions in Jerusalem, many areas including the Golan Heights, Galil and areas of Yehuda and Shomron were quite snowed in on Thursday morning, 17 Teves. However, damage and inconvenience were not just caused by snow, but by heavy rainfall and strong winds. Israel Electric Company officials on Thursday morning reported 4,500 families were still without power.
Utility company officials reported the largest areas affected are Netanya, Ashkelon, Dimona, Petach Tikvah and Ra’anana, clearly areas not impacted by snow accumulations, but from winds and flooding.
Utility officials add that they worked hard to restore power as 17,000 families were without power on Tuesday night, and they succeeded in restoring power in most cases.
