Police responding to a 911 call of a woman being assaulted at 1230 Hancock Street in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, ended with a suspect being shot by police.

Upon arrival, the male suspect lunged at officers with a knife and officers fired one round at the suspect. He was hit in the stomach and was taken to Kings County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 12 inch knife was recovered at the scene.

Two officers were transported to Wyckoff Hospital to be evaluated.

Highly credible sources confirm to Breaking911 that the suspect is 26-year-old Michael Silva, a Hispanic male.

A crime scene has been secured, and an investigation in underway.
