Two NYPD officers were shot in the Bronx around 10:33PM Monday night. The incident happened at East 184 Street and Tiebout Avenue in the confines of the 46th Precinct. Both officers were rushed to St Barnabas Hospital by EMS and are reportedly in stable condition. One was shot in the arm, and one was shot in the back.

One suspect reportedly fled in a vehicle but crashed shortly after. He then fled on foot. A massive perp search is underway in the area of 188 Street and Park Avenue. Hundreds of police officers as well as Emergency Services Units, K9, and Aviation Units are canvassing the area. Power was temporarily shut to the Fordham Road and Grand Concourse train tracks as police combed the area. The trains were held as well.

A second suspect was taken into custody.

Police had reportedly responded to calls of a commercial armed robbery, and confronted the suspect who began firing at them. The officers reportedly returned multiple shots to the suspect.

The weapon used was reportedly located at 189 St and Park Avenue.

The shooting comes just more than two weeks after two officers were gunned down in their patrol car in Brooklyn by a man who vowed online to kill “pigs.” The man later committed suicide.

The second officer was buried on Sunday.

Preliminary investigations are continuing into Monday’s shooting.

  1. “A massive perp search is underway in the area of 188 Street and Park Avenue.” Perp search??? You mean a man-hunt???

  2. Welcome back, Mayor Dinkins! Why doesn’t the incumbent simply arm the underbelly of NYC and get it over with? It’s all over but the shouting, anyway.
