The Belzer Rebbe Shlita sent MK Rav Yisrael Eichler to meet with Jerusalem Sephardi Chief Rabbi Moshe Amar to ask him to intercede towards ending the conflict in the Sephardi chareidi community, Kikar Shabbos reports.
The rebbe felt that perhaps a third person, a neutral party could intercede towards bringing the side together. One of the names that he considered was Rosh Yeshivas Mosdos Ohr HaChaim HaGaon HaRav Reuven Elbaz Shlita.
What is interesting is that Rav Amar has devoted considerable time and energy to ending the machlokes when he himself was an outcast for such a long period after the petira of Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L.
Kikar reports that Rav Amar not only met with rabbonim involved, but with philanthropists, askanim and anyone who might be able to contribute to ending the machlokes.
