Meanwhile, Israeli tanks have been deployed on the edge of the Gaza Strip, poised to enter the densely populated enclave of 1.5 million Palestinians. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s cabinet approved a call-up of 6,500 reservists.
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak told top commanders at a briefing on Sunday that the Israeli offensive was open-ended. Military spokesman Avi Benayahu said it could “take many days.”

It is about time. The world will hate us and thats the way it is. Do what is right, pray to Hashem that he guides us and gives us strenght and the world can just go to he*l. Israel must take out the trash and when that happens they are doing the right thing. Thank GD Barak stepped up to the plate I was worrying a bit about him and his lack of resolve. ISRAEL must continue to do the right thing and the world can just wait, complain and kvetch.
