The latest Channel 2 News poll, which was released on Monday night the eve of 8 Teves, shows the Likud and the Labor/The Movement alignment are neck and neck with 24 seats. Yahadut Hatorah fails to climb to an eighth seat.
The poll was released 78 days before elections for the 20th Knesset and the two largest parties are still neck and neck. The poll carried out by the Midgam Institute shows they would each receive 24 seats if elections were held today. Shas receives six seats while the Ha’Am Itanu party headed by Eli Yishai fails to pass the minimum threshold.
The poll involves 500 respondents who are representative of a cross section of Israeli adults 18 and older. The margin of error is +/-4.5%. The poll was taken prior to Aryeh Deri announcing his resignation.
