While The Movement party leader Tzipi Livni is pleased with the alignment she has signed with the Labor party, it appears that despite securing guaranteed slots on the Labor ticket for some of her MKs, there may not be anyone to fill those position.

Following the resignation from the party by David Tzur and Elazar Stern, Amnon Mitzne on Wednesday 2 Teves announced he is following their lead. Mitzne, a former IDF major-general, Labor party leader, Haifa mayor and now The Movement MK, announced he feels that he no longer can influence events and therefore, he is leaving Knesset. The 69-year-old politician has decided it is time for him to enter the private sector and leave the political spotlight. He began serving in Knesset in 2003. MK Meir Sheetrit is expected to follow suit. Sheetrit entered the 10th Knesset in 1981 and has served as a cabinet minister several times. He was also treasury of the Jewish Agency and World Zionist Congress before entering politics.

If Sheetrit does follow, then the only remaining members of Livni’s party here Livni herself and Amir Peretz, who was promised a slot in the first 10 lineup on the Labor ticket.
