Persons close to Eli Yishai on Sunday 29 Kislev responded to the Meet the Press interview with Aryeh Deri on motzei Shabbos. They are far from apologetic, simply explaining the person who fails to keep his end of the bargain should not point an accusing finger of blame at another.
Deri told Channel 2’s Meet the Press that Yishai is betraying Shas and therefore Maran’s life work and he should visit the kever and ask for mechila.
When asked to comment on the decision of Tekuma to remain in Bayit Leumi and not heed the words of HaGaon HaRav Dov Lior Shlita, Yishai’s people stated confidently they will receive most of the chareidi leumi community and they are optimistic despite polls showing the party will not pass the minimum threshold of four seats to enter Knesset. Yishai officials feel that followers of Rav Lior and HaGaon HaRav Elyakim Levanon will vote for the Yishai team that includes former Bayit Yehudi MK Yoni Chetboun despite Ariel’s decision to ignore the rabbonim and sign a deal with Bennett and his dati leumi party.
They insist that despite Deri’s words that they are betraying the derech of “Maran”, referring to Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L, that are actually a chareidi party and they are concerned with the future of Eretz Yisrael along with the other issues.

The Sefardim will eventually see u as the true mesorah & legacy of Maran, just as his daughter Rabbanit Adina Shalom saw Yishai.
You can’t have it both ways.To treat Yishai like an unwanted outcast and then hope that he doesn’t bolt from the coalition on the other hand simply make no sense. Simply put it sounds like the ravings of an unstable madman
