MK (The Movement) has secured himself a ‘realistic’ spot on the Labor party ticket ahead of elections. Peretz, who served as minister of environmental affairs in the outgoing cabinet was head of the Labor party in the past, defecting to Labor after being defeated by Shelly Yacimovich. Mrs. Yacimovich was then defeated by current party leader Yitzchak Herzog.
The decision was made by Livni on Shabbos that the eighth slot will go to Peretz. Livni has locked in the second spot for herself in the deal with Labor party leader Yitzchak Herzog. Their deal provides for a rotation between them if elected and successful in forming a coalition government. Each will serve as prime minister for two years.

Unlike Livni, Peretz is a traditional socialist and will raise few objections from the rest of the Labor party. While he is yet another failed leader, he is in good company in the Labor party which seems to be a list of rejects from the past.
