Gur Initiative to Assist Families in the Chassidus in Meeting Expenses

gurThe Gur Chassidus has implemented a new program to assist families in the community to meet expenses. All avreichim in the chassidus will complete forms providing information including the number of children and their basic monthly needs, including what they buy and where, and they will receive a monthly stipend from Ichud Mosdos Gur to compensate for the lost monthly child allowance payments eliminated by the outgoing Knesset.

The announcement will be made as thousands of chassidim join the Rebbe Shlita in the main beis medrash in Yerushalayim to light the Chanukah candles.

After the completed forms are processed and verified, each avreich will receive 85 NIS monthly for each child under the age of 18. It is hoped this will help to compensate for the lost monthly payment that used to be made by the national government.

The 2013 Bituach Leumi Poverty Report released on 24 Kislev states the cutting of the monthly child allowance payment resulted in 90,000 people joining the ranks of the nation’s poor, which unfortunately ranks very high among developed and OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) nations.
