Councilman Greenfield thanked the NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force and the 61 NYPD precinct for catching an individual who allegedly slashed the tires of as many as 100 cars this Saturday night in the Midwood/Madison neighborhoods of Brooklyn – in a story first brought to you by YWN.
“My deepest thanks to Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce, Captain Mark Magrone of Hate Crimes Task Force and Deputy Inspector Carlos Valdez of Brooklyn’s 61 precinct for their outstanding work along with their respective teams in quickly catching the alleged criminal who caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to Brooklyn residents’ vehicles. This quick arrest proves once again that we truly have NYPD’s finest serving our neighborhoods and that goes a long way in calming the nerves of the community. The message is very clear: New York City has zero tolerance for these quality of life crimes,” said Councilman David G. Greenfield.
Greenfield was the first to offer a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for these crimes.
As YWN reported earlier, Arrested was a 21-year-old male, who is a local resident in the area. The female that police were looking for was his twin sister – who has not been charged. Our sources tell us that the individual is not mentally stable. It is unknown what the charges will be. Police were able to find his from a “crime-stoppers tip”.

Look, he’s not mentally stable and he already lives in Brooklyn. How much more can you punish him?
Inspector Ramos of the 61 Pct. is the greatest.
