Russia has begun delivery of S-300 advanced anti-aircraft missiles which will provide Tehran with a respectable response to an Israel Air Force offensive seeking to target nuclear installations. According to media reports, parts for the advanced system are already being delivered to Iran.
During a visit to Moscow this year, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert expressed Israel’s objections to Russia’s continued weapons deals with Israel’s enemies, stating Syria specifically, but in essence the weapons sold to Syria also feed anti-Israel terrorism via Iran, Hizbullah and Hamas.
Last week, senior Defense Ministry official Amos Gilad was in Moscow with another Israeli appealing to halt weapons sales to Iran and Syria. According to media report, Moscow did not heed Israel’s request and objections and the delivery of missiles is underway.
The S-300 is considered an advanced world class anti-aircraft system, with an impressive ability to simultaneously track 100 targets and actually engaging 12 simultaneously. Its operational range is 200 kilometers (120 miles) and an altitude range of 90,000 feet.
Israel’s Channel 1 TV News reported a Russian source stated the new system will compel Israel to think twice before launching an offensive against Iran.
Israeli experts are also concerned the advanced system may make its way to Syria, Lebanon and eventually, Hizbullah, which would give the terror organization operating in southern Lebanon an ability to address Israel’s air force, changing the balance of power in the area.

Does Israel really have a legitimate objection? They are the largest arms exporter per capita in the world, and they even sell to Russia. For each country Israel sells to, that country’s enemies are not happy about it. As Rav Pappa taught, don’t correct others until you correct yourself.
#1, while your syllogism seems well constructed, it is merely rhetoric, because in the final analysis, many of us DO get Israel’s objection to this. I am sure you do to. Comes a time common sense must prevail over lofty, even valid thinking. In this case, we are talking about survival, and yes, Israel does have a legitimate objection to this latest development.
#1 – Israel is not a terrorist country, thats why it is ok for them!
I know why Israel is objecting, and I would do the same thing, given the situation they are already in. My point is that Israel has to stop acting like every other goyishe country, and be the “Light Unto the Nations”. Instead of spreading arms all over the world (along with sports, music, clothes, drugs, etc, etc), spread Torah and Truth.
