Labor leader Ehud Barak on Sunday will announce the party’s election slogan, “Hamsa Hamsa” which he will present with the five top party officials.
Likud is announcing it election slogan, “we must run the country”, adding “after three years of failed leadership, it is time for a change”.
Anastasia Michaeli, formerly from Kadima, is joining the right-wing Yisrael Beitenu Party. The 33-year-old Russian-language news anchorwoman will compete for a slot on the party lineup.
Moledet announced it is breaking away from the new Bayit Yehudi Party and a break from Hatikvah after Moledet leader Rabbi Benny Elon announced his retirement from politics. His decision appears to have been prompted by landing an unrealistic slot in the party primaries. The Tekumah faction is also considering breaking away and rabbonim are meeting with the party leader, Rabbi Dr. Daniel Hershkowitz to discuss his plans for the party. Rabbi Eliezer Melamed, the rosh yeshiva of Har Bracha Hesder Yeshiva and a prominent rav in the dati leumi camp, reportedly emerged from a meeting with Hershkowitz pleased with the new leader’s statements, Kol Chai Radio reported.
