The split between Degel HaTorah and Agudas Yisrael did not appear to negatively impact the atmosphere of participants of the Agudah gathering in the Continental Hotel in Bnei Brak on Thursday.
The event was opened by Agudah secretary R’ Chanoch Zeibert, who first attended to a number of official matters, permitting the evening event to move ahead to address the need for unity in the upcoming general election.
Rav Yisrael Hager, the son of the Vishnitzer Rebbe Shlita addressed the forum, stressing the need for achdus at this time. He mentioned his late grandfather the Imrei Chaim zt”l, who stressed the need for achdus.
Officials explained the division of the various factions regarding the Knesset list and emphasized repeatedly that they must be united if the party is to emerge from the election with a respectable representation in Knesset.
