Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein has issued a memo to cabinet ministers who as of Monday16 Kislev will be part of the caretaker transition government. The Knesset on Wednesday 11 Kislev passed the bill to dissolve Knesset in its preliminary reading and is expected to pass its second and third readings on Monday. Following that event, the government becomes a transition government this is supposed carry the nation to elections, scheduled for 26 Adar.
Weinstein reminds ministers that during the transition period, they are expected to maintain a status quo and only make decisions that result in change in cases of absolute need. He instructs them to refrain from taking advantage of this period ahead of elections to unilaterally implement changes they may like to see actualized before stepping down from their posts.
