Mayor Bill de Blasio calls it a “deeply emotional day” for the family of Eric Garner and for all New Yorkers.
De Blasio said in a statement Wednesday that Garner’s death was a “terrible tragedy.”
He noted that the grand jury’s outcome was one that “many” in New York City “did not want.”
He said peaceful protests can be valuable — but that violence and disorder are wrong.
De Blasio said reforms have been introduced in the hopes of bringing police and the community closer together.

“the outcome they didnt want”if its a matter of “want” its a lynch mentalityThe point is what the evidence showed.23 members of a grand jury were not convinced by the evidence.the mayor who presumably did not see the evidence “wanted” a conviction.
