De Blasio: Crime In NYC Continues To Fall

bratMayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner William Bratton say crime continues to fall in New York City.

They said Tuesday that overall crime is down 4.4 percent from this time a year ago.

Homicides are down 6.8 percent from the end of November 2013.

De Blasio said the city had its safest August to November period since at least 1994.

He and Bratton touted the crime reduction and police reforms as the city braces for the grand jury’s decision in the Eric Garner case.

Garner, who was unarmed, died in a police chokehold in July.

Bratton said the Staten Island grand jury is expected to reach a decision this week about whether to indict any police officers.

Very convenient, if you don’t like the fact, suppose it’s not happening.

Crime Statistics may be rigged, and so they were rigged last year and Ten years ago too.

Homicide rates can’t be rigged, since every murder is well documented. So if you would see Homicides going up, and overall crime falling, there is room for suspicion. But if overall crime goes in the same direction as Homicides, it’s probably true.
