Two attempted infiltrations from Gaza into southern Israel were prevented on Sunday 23 Marcheshvan.
The IDF was summoned to the border fence area in proximity of Kibbutz Kissufim after the notification system detected activity along the border. Soldiers fired in the direction of the image moving along the border, which was later learned to be a 10-year-old boy. Authorities believe terrorists sent the boy to evaluate border security at this time. The child was seriously wounded by the gunfire and transported to the trauma unit of Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva.
A short time later an attempted infiltration was detected along the border in the area of Kerem Shalom. Three Gazans tried getting into southern Israel. They three was taken into custody. A body check revealed they were unarmed.
