Meretz Goes to the Polls Sunday


Some 1,000 registered members of the extreme left-wing Meretz Party on Sunday will take part in the party’s primaries, appointing faction members to their respective slots ahead of the Feb. 10th general election for the 18th Knesset.

Chaim Oron is in the top slot, having replace Dr. Yossi Beilin, who recently resigned and decided to leave politics. Veteran Meretz MK Ran Cohen also left the political community after realizing he will not be elected as the new party leader.

One of the new faces in Meretz if Har Nof resident Dr. Tzvia Greenfeld, who is somewhat unique aligning herself with the secular left-wing party.
