After attempts to wean him from the respirator, doctors at Shaare Zedek Hospital decided to place terror victim Rabbi Yehuda Glick back into a medically induced coma after he experienced difficulty breathing, Yated Neeman reports. Prior to putting him back under the rabbi requested to put on tefilin and only after this was done were doctors able to bring him back under the medication.

Glick was shot in his upper body four times at point blank range in an assassination attempt due to his major role in fighting for Jewish freedom of religion on Har Habayis. The shooter was an Arab who knew Glick personally, telling him as he pulled the trigger “Yehuda, I am sorry but I have to do this”.

The terrorist, a Jerusalem resident, was shot dead by police as he resisted arrest on the morning following the attempted assassination.
