Behind on Your Mortgage? Interest Free Loan Available!

foreCouncilman David Greenfield has teamed up with the Orthodox Jewish Political Club (OJPC) and Brooklyn Housing to raise awareness of a mortgage assistance and foreclosure prevention program offered by New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman that is available to state residents for a limited time. The New York State Mortgage Assistance Program (NYS-MAP) will offer mid-sized loans with no-interest to homeowners who are at risk of foreclosure and are unable to get assistance from other foreclosure prevention programs. This program was created and funded by the Attorney General to keep New Yorkers in their homes while facing financial hardship.

Although the economy has been improving many homeowners are still struggling from the recession to hold on to their homes. NYS-MAP helps homeowners affected by financial hardship to bridge gaps on back mortgage payments, giving them a second chance to hold on to their homes and a helping hand at recovering financial stability. To access the program homeowners must work with a local foreclosure prevention professional with the Attorney General’s Homeownership Protection Program. One such organization available to the residents of Southern Brooklyn is Brooklyn Housing and Family Services, which receives funding from Councilman Greenfield, they can be reached at (718) 836-2687.

“The recession hit New York hard, and many of our neighbors are still struggling to pay their mortgage. I encourage anyone facing mortgage hardship to take advantage of this temporary assistance program immediately,” said Councilman David Greenfield.

“This program bridges a gap for any homeowner unable to meet their monthly mortgage bills. Please encourage your neighbors and families in crisis to call Brooklyn Housing and Family Services today,” said Joe Gross, President of the OJPC.

Anyone interested in assistance should act quickly. The program will run only as long as funds are available. For more information about assistance with any housing issues please contact the office of Councilman David Greenfield at (718) 853-2704.
