Three years after the Jerusalem light rail began running it has become an easy and preferred target for Islamic terrorists. After the vehicular attack at train stations on Wednesday 12 Marcheshvan, Jerusalem Police Chief Moshe Edri has ordered the placement of concrete blocks at the stations in such a way to prevent a vehicle from driving into passengers waiting for a train.

Some of the concrete blocks have already been set into place, just hours following the fatal attack on Route 1 Wednesday, 12 Marcheshvan. The blocks will be placed along the route, including on Jaffa Street and Herzl Blvd.

In the Arab violence that followed the attack police report arresting 16 persons involved in attacks against police. Police add that in the past 2.5 weeks, 188 arrests were made in connection to violence in the capital including 117 adults and 71 minors.

  1. What as joke is that the only place to ram into people , if you can’t scare them so they don’t try this will not help, you are telling your citizen sorry I can’t help you, too busy with chareidim

  2. Trains are empty these past couple of days. Oh well, I guess I can get a seat now. Are they deploying a permanent police presence at every station – both sides of the tracks?
