At this year’s Lakewood Chamber of Commerce reception held on Wednesday October 29th, LCSW was presented with the prestigious Citizens of the Year Award. This annual Chamber events pays tribute to individuals and organizations that help improve the community and contribute to the vitality and growth of Lakewood Township. Additional recipients of this prestigious award were Jose Fabrizzio Orozco, Vice President and Area Manager of Provident Bank; Julie Vanore, CEO of Preferred Family of Services; Assemblyman David P. Rible, Minority Conference Leader; AcuteCare Health System, CEO Violeta Peters; and Investors Bank, Mark P. Balsam Sr., Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager.
LCSW was honored as Citizen of the Year for its unique role in keeping the streets of Lakewood safe and in protecting the city’s residents by working in tandem with law enforcement. Ephraim Chase, senior LCSW member and manager of Shoprite’s Kosher Experience, accepted the award on the organization’s behalf.
Civilian Watch coordinators expressed their thanks to Mr. David Nicola, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, for his role in fostering a healthy economic environment for businesses in Lakewood. They have stated that they are proud to accept the award and averred that it is a tribute that belongs to all devoted LCSW members who give of themselves 24/7 to ensure that Lakewood remain a safe environment for themselves and their families. They have also mentioned that they are gratified to be recognized by the Chamber for LCSW’s role in maintaining the quality of life in Lakewood; translating into a more active environment for commerce.
The event was attended by many local and State dignitaries as well as communal leaders and activists.
