After Minister of the Interior Gideon Saar announced his decision to take a break from political life, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has decided to appoint Gilad Erdan to the senior cabinet post.

Erdan and the prime minister also agreed that Minister Erdan would continue to be responsible for the implementation of the reform at the Israel Broadcasting Authority, including the cancellation of the annual license fee.

Minister Erdan will, in the coming weeks, conclude his tenure at the Communications Ministry. The foregoing will be submitted for cabinet and Knesset approval.
