Following the Channel 2 investigating citing an alarming increase in the detection of cancer among soldiers serving in the Tel Arad Base in southern Israel (reported HERE on YWN) , parents of soldiers serving on the base will be demonstrating opposite the Defense Ministry on Sunday evening.

The parents are unwilling to take the news as calmly as IDF officials, stating that the protest is not directed against the military but in support of their sons, who they insist should be moved out of the Tel Arad Base until the actual cause of the alarming cancer rate, 2.5 times of that of soldiers in other bases, is detected.

The organizers of the event explain that what has occurred to date is unfortunate and they cannot change it but they can do something about preventing additional cases in the future.
