MK (Kadima) Yisrael Hasson, a member of the two-man Kadima faction in Knesset, is likely to be leaving political life to become CEO of the Israel Antiquities Authority. If his appointment is approved he will announcement his retirement from Knesset. He will be replaced by MK Ronit Tirosh, who served in the 17th and 18th Knesset but did not make it in the current Knesset as Kadima only earned two seats. Kadima is headed by former defense minister and IDF chief, MK Shaul Mofaz.
Hasson, who served as deputy director of the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) entered Knesset in 2006 as a member of Yisrael Beitenu. In 2008 he broke away and joined Kadima.
