*Today is Gilad Shalit’s 891st day in Hamas captivity.

*19:12: A powerful explosion was heard in Hamas-controlled Khan Yunis. Four terrorists were injured according to reports from the PA.

*Israel increases security for diplomatic facilities around the world following Mumbai attack.

*IDF soldiers involved in counter-terror operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron on Sunday night arrested two suspects in Ramallah.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*The border policeman who on Shabbos knocked Ateret Levinger to the ground has been suspended from duty the IDF Chevron Battalion commander told Chevron’s Jewish residents on Sunday.

*Temperatures are expected to continue to rise through Thursday with no rain in the forecast.

*The Secondary School Teachers union has declared a work dispute, a move that starts the two-week countdown timer following which a strike may be declared.

*Minister Ze’ev Boim (Kadima) on Sunday night called for a comprehensive IDF Gaza operation to topple the Hamas regime.

*Residents in the Ashdod region near Moshav Givati were evacuated due to a blaze in a hazardous materials warehouse in the Moshav on Sunday night. No injuries were reported. Heavy smoke conditions were reported.

*Convicted Rabin assassin Yigal Amir has launched a hunger strike in protest over punishment for granting a media interview, which by the way was not aired.

*Two Israelis are still officially listed as missing in Mumbai according to the Israel Foreign Ministry.

*While officials in Mumbai at one point reported the death toll climbed to 195, they are now stating that number is 174 and 239 wounded. The terrorists hoped to murder 5,000 people.

*In a meeting on Sunday with Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg, President Shimon Peres called for the formation of an international anti-terror task force.

*The Kedoshim flight that left Tel Aviv on Sunday night arrived in India early morning Monday (Israel time).
