In its first meeting since the election of a new council, the nation’s Chief Rabbinical Council convened on Sunday and addressed the terror in Mumbai.

HaRav HaGaon Yitzchak Dovid Grossman Shlita, an uncle of Rivka Holtzberg HY”D addressed the forum along with Sephardic Chief Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar Shlita, who explained his daughter was a close friend of Rivka.

The Council accepted a suggestion presented by Rav Shimon Elituv, to call on the Government of Israel to undertake providing security for Chabad Houses around the world to enable Jews from around the world to continue visiting and celebrating yomim tovim in Chabad houses in safety.

A member of the council and rav of Zaka, Rav Yaakov Rosa addressed the forum and gave an update on Zaka activities in Mumbai.
