The Jalame checkpoint north of Jenin was closed close to noon on Sunday 25 Tishrei after a terrorist carrying a suspected bomb was apprehended. Security personnel closed down the crossing and took the terrorist into custody. Bomb demolition technicians were summoned to the scene to neutralize the device.
Security personnel saw wires protruding from the man’s body, leading to their decision to detain him. It was determined the device was not an actual bomb. It is unclear if the man is deranged or possibly, he was checking the level of security and the system response at this particular checkpoint for future reference.
