Send Food For Yom Tov To A Truly Needy Family In Israel Through Tov V’Chesed

cth0t[COMMUNICATED CONTENT]

This past week, Tov V’Chesed’s massive Sukkos project provided 3,500 families in Israel with the means to celebrate Yom Tov with joy, just like they should.

Unfortunately, it is not enough! As Yom Tov approaches, hundreds of families are still asking for help.

How many more families will get help?

It’s up to you.

We’ve prepared special coupons that truly needy families can use to shop at their local markets. Click here to send some! (When you select a Sukkos package on our site, the equivalent dollar amount will be distributed in coupons.)

In order to protect the dignity of our families, all the packages we sent were delivered straight to the door, looking as it would if it came from the supermarket. This entailed tremendous effort.

From the beginning of Elul, the lights at our warehouse burned through the night as 100 volunteers and employees took 6-hour shifts. They stood shoulder-to-shoulder among towers of food, sorting and packing over forty different items for 3,000 families.

Each package was comprised of 6 – 10 boxes and sacks of groceries, depending on the family’s size and situation. We gave them meat, chicken, fish, grape juice, drinks, flour, sugar, spices, condiments, canned goods, and even yartzheit candles. After all the non-perishable and frozen products were packaged, we added fresh potatoes, onions and carrots on the day of delivery.

A whopping 25,000 boxes and sacks were hauled onto skids and then delivery trucks within the week of Yom Tov. Eight trucks delivered the packages to thirty-five neighborhoods in eight cities all across Israel. Once again, our dedicated volunteers worked up a sweat schlepping the packages off the trucks and onto hand trucks. They climbed as many stairs necessary to stack the packages neatly and discretely at each door.

Erev Yom Tov: Deliveries are done, but we’re not. We will continue to distribute your donations to families that did not receive food packages. We’ll give each of them 3 – 10 coupons to be redeemed at any local food market. The coupons are written out for 100 shekels each, so that our families can use them to shop at more than one store.
