JetBlue says a bird hit a plane after takeoff from New York’s Kennedy Airport and the pilot returned to the airport and landed safely.
The incident Saturday morning involved Flight 683 to Orlando. The flight was scheduled to leave Kennedy at 6:50 a.m.
JetBlue spokeswoman Sharon Jones says the captain encountered a bird strike and returned to the airport.
She says the 144 passengers were removed to another aircraft. That plane left Kennedy at 8:45 a.m.
A spokeswoman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says there were no injuries and the aircraft was not damaged.
