Feiglin: Aharonovich Should Have Been Ousted a Long Time Ago

feigDeputy Knesset Speaker MK Moshe Feiglin feels Public Security Minister Yitzchak Aharonovich should have been ousted from his post a long time ago.

Feiglin spoke to Galei Yisrael Radio regarding the death of 27-year-old Roi Arami HY”D two weeks ago. Police insisted the death was an accident but it has since been learned it was not an accident, but it appears an Arab worker sabotaged his rappelling equipment leading to his fall from an 11th story of a Petach Tikvah building. Now the case is being handled as a terror attack after the parents of the victim were insistent and unrelenting in the pressure applied on police and others.

Feiglin cited other examples including Shelly Dadon HY”D, glaring examples that the deaths were not due to natural causes or suicide yet police refused to admit they were the result of terror.

“We have something in our Zionist gene that compels us to seek other causes rather than face the reality that exists” explained Feiglin, adding if not for the Arabs, many Jews here would forget they are Jewish. He added that if one wishes to analyze the situation without digging too deeply, one must understand the death of a man who fell 11 stories is no different than the deaths of the three kedoshim HY”D that led to Operation Protective Edge. “Aharonovich should have been gone a long time ago…” he added, highlighting the need to restore security to citizens of the country.

Feiglin stated that Israelis around the country are in agreement, sharing a growing feeling of insecurity as Aharonovich and his department fail in providing basic security for citizens. He added that the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) and Israel Police repeatedly try to whitewash murders that are terror related, preferring to label them suicide or non-terror related acts. Feiglin laments the reality that 13 shuls were targeted in arson attacks in 2013 and that attacks in Yerushalayim have become daily occurrences yet Aharonovich continues in his position.

Feiglin feels the problem must be addressed at the core, explaining the issue is also the threat from Israeli Arabs. He uses Mohammed Zoabi as an example, explaining since he spoke out against his own Israeli Arab community he was compelled to flee, now living outside of Israel.

We add that while YWN-ISRAEL generally does not report on internal scandals in Israel Police, as Aharonovich is working to find a replacement for outgoing Police Chief Yochanan Danino and Jerusalem Police Chief Yossi Pariente, both stepping down, the media is full of reports that the natural contenders for the post, the most senior officers eligible officers are resigning one after another as they are plagued with scandals of different sorts. The newspapers question where the replacements will come from as most eligible contenders have been disqualified, some now facing criminal indictments for their alleged crimes.

Galei Yisrael adds Minister Aharonovich has refused to be interviewed on the air.
