Hundreds of mispallalim who were in Uman for Rosh Hashanah were stranded in the airport in the Ukraine for hours as they tried leaving the country. This was reportedly due to a significant delay in flights to Israel.
Rabbi Hillel Cohen, who heads Ukraine Hatzalah and officials from the Nakdimon organization were on hand to assist, providing sandwiches and beverage for the stranded passengers. They explain that when the situation became known to them they prepared hundreds of sandwiches to bring to the airport.

There was an air traffic controllers’ strike in Greece and Cyprus that affected just about all flights to and from Israel. The issue was the EU plan to have a single air traffic system for all of the EU, rather than have each country control its own space as is now the case.
