10:39AM IL: According to eyewitness reports from Hamas-controlled Gaza, a number of IDF tanks and bulldozers are operating near the Rafiach border fence, about 100 meters inside Hamas territory. At least one anti-tank rocket was fired at the IDF force.

Reports indicate three tanks are escorting two bulldozers east of Rafiach in southern Gaza, with the bulldozers destroying farming fields and trees.

A media release from Hamas’ Izzadin al-Kassam Brigade at about 9:00am stated that the “Zionist enemy entered and our warriors fired at the tanks. We will oppose any Israeli attempt to enter the area regardless of the ceasefire and we will take measures to defend ourselves against the barbaric Israelis.”

At about 10:30am, a number of mortar shells were fired into the western Negev. There are no reports of injuries.

The Office of the IDF Spokesperson responding to the report stated it was checking the validity of the information from Gaza.

11:02AM IL: [UPDATE] The IDF Spokesperson’s Office reports the operation near the border fence is a standard one to uncover and neutralize explosive devices in the area.
