Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, who headed Israel’s negotiations with the PA (Palestinian Authority), is working to salvage the failed effort. The senior minister explains that Bayit Yehudi is unwilling to entertain any compromise regarding efforts to reach an agreement with the PA.
After the harsh criticism leveled against Bayit Yehudi by Meretz MK Nitzan Horowitz Livni joined in. Horowitz blames Bayit Yehudi leader Minister Naftali Bennett of sabotaging peace negotiations. Livni echoed his words and added the party never should have been a part of the coalition government.
Speaking to Channel 10 News, Livni explained Bayit Yehudi is tenacious in its refusal to accept any and every possibility towards reaching agreement with the PA and therefore the party does not belong in the coalition.
“Bayit Yehudi has a deep and religious ideology that does not permit any compromise under any condition. The party is not the majority in the coalition and it should not be in the coalition” Livni explained. She expressed her opposition to the partnership created between Bayit Yehudi and Yesh Atid; a deal that cleared the way for Bennett and his party to enter the coalition.
Horowitz added that Bennett’s appetite appears to have increased as he and others now speak about Bayit Yehudi becoming the ruling party. He warns that “Bayit Yehudi represents inequality, no democracy, no social safeguards, and no peace. What does it believe in? Settlements, tycoons, and Israeli sovereignty. This is not Israel. This is a nation that devours its inhabitants.”

funny that horowitz uses the samme terminology as the meraglim
Unless the nationalist parties can find a way to compromise their principles such that they can let hareidim into the government (which at the very least means ending conscription), Likud will have no choice but to ally with the left-center parties even though Natanyahu would probably be happier being the dove of a right-wing coalition rather than the hawk of of left-center coalition.
For the nationalists, the question is whether their love of the settlements is greater than their hatred of the yeshiva world.
Horowitz & Livni are creating a smokescreen based on anti Zionistic ideology.
They thus obfuscate the PA deal, making it sound like a solution.
As long as the PA (Hamas, Al Keida and all other synonyms) propagate their ideal, that Israel stop to exist, and teach it to their children and citizens, and make propaganda speeches on TV and radio, we have no peace partner. No matter how hard the UN US UK EU try to persuade us otherwise.
