Minister of Communications Gilad Erdan is once again considering the offer of becoming Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations. According to the Channel 2 News report, both Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman support the appointment, which becomes relevant in a few months as current Ambassador Ron Prosor returns to Israel earlier than expected.

The post was offered to Edan once before, but at the time he opted to remain the Minister of Environmental Protection.

Channel 2 reports Erdan is now giving serious consideration to the offer.
