During Arab rioting in a number of areas in the eastern capital on Sunday night the eve of 13 Elul, Arabs hurled firebombs and rocks into a gas station located in French Hill. The rioters also entered the convenience store located in the gas station and smashed windows and caused significant damage in the store. B’chasdei Hashem firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control before it led to catastrophic consequences. However, the station sustained significant damage.
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat issued a statement calling on police to use a firm hand against law-breakers, urging them to exhibit zero tolerance to attacks and acts of vandalism.
