Minister of Public Security (Yisrael Beitenu) Yitzchak Aharonovich feels his party leader, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, will be Israel’s next prime minister.
Speaking in Beersheva over the weekend the minister told his audience that he does not envision elections on the horizon. He added that elections at this time would not be a good thing for the nation, but if elections do take place, he has no doubt Yisrael Beitenu will gain seats and that Avigdor Lieberman will become Israel’s next prime minister.
Regarding the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas Aharonovich is not optimistic, telling the audience “I do not know for how long the quiet will remain”. He pointed out that Hamas maintained one-third of its rockets, adding Lieberman was opposed to the ceasefire. He added that Yisrael Beitenu has split from Likud and the two will not run under a joint ticket in the next election.
Aharonovich explained he felt the IDF should have been instructed to finish the job, to bring Hamas to its knees and to eliminate Hamas’ ability to fire rockets at Israeli civilian population centers. He expressed opposition to retaking control of Gaza, adding “there are other ways to accomplish this”.

He will certainly give Bibi a run for the money, but I don’t think Libermann will win.
Hopefully he will be but I don’t think it’s ever going to happen.
Not gonna happen. Dream on.
