Thai Worker in Light Condition Following Border Incident

An IDF command post in the north on Shabbos afternoon detected an alert along the border fence to Lebanon in the Kibbutz Manara area. A patrol was dispatched and four images were detected along the fence, signaled by the electronic detection border fence.

Implementing standard protocol, soldiers order the four to halt but they did not comply [possibly not understanding] and soldiers fired, striking one of the four, a 25-year-old Thai farm worker, in his shoulder.

Baruch Hashem, things did not escalate and soldiers realized quickly what had taken place. The injured man was transported to a hospital. The IDF is investigating the incident to determine if the soldiers’ actions were in line with operational orders.
