Last week it was reported that the rebbe shlita instructed his chassidim not to report to draft centers, adopting the policy of HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita. A clarification is now being announced.
Rosh Yeshiva Slonim Shlita has now issued a clarification that the restriction prohibiting one from reporting to an induction center applies only to bochrim, not to the older talmidim and avreichim. The rosh yeshiva explained the fear is that 17-year-old talmidim reporting for a first induction order may be “damaged” or persuaded by military authorities and therefore the rebbe prohibits them from doing so. This does not apply to anyone other than these bochrim, fearing the latter may be influenced by the surroundings due to their young age.
The rebbe’s words were disseminated in the chassidus by his son, Rosh Yeshivas Slonim Shlita.
The rebbe is a member of the Moetzas Gedolei Torah of Agudas Yisrael.

To clarify this clarification which seems a bit misleading or deceiving.
The Rebbe prohibits joining the army for any age in any circumstance. PERIOD!
An older bachur or a young man may enter the induction center to get his exemption but not ch”v to join the army.
Kol Hakovod , he is a a strong leader with a clear Torah mind.
But what does sitting in jail for 20 days (and another 20 days…) do to a 17-year-old??

That is not what the article said. Do you have inside information that the rest of Slonim do not have, or are you merely speculating and giving us your opinion packaged as if it were the opinion of the Slonimer Rebbe shlita??
#4 I knew people will get confused with this article, that’s why I clarified it. And yes, I have inside information and the Rebbe shlit”a added that with this clarification nothing has changed from what he initially said (which was posted on many sites on line in Hebrew and in many papers).
#3 20 days in jail is healthier spiritually than going to the induction center for the first time. Find out and you’ll understand why the Slonim Rebbe shlit”a, Viznitzer Rebbe shlit”a and many other gedolim are so adamantly against it.
