Many if not most Gaza border community residents are not hurrying to return home, fearful the rocket fire will resume. Among the residents that have returned, many explained the uncertainty is extremely troubling if not worrisome, as they are certain there will be another round of warfare with Hamas at a future date.
Residents lament the loss of life yet the government did not see the mission through to the end, failing to bring Hamas to its knees but instead halted the operation at a time Hamas is capable of rehabilitating its military capabilities. Bottom line as one resident put it, “None of us applauded or cheered when the ceasefire was announced and we are not hurrying to pack and return home”.

מה היא דעת תורה ?
#4: So tell us which Da’as Torah you’re talking about? You will get so many opinions your head will spin. Therein lies one of our problems.
I don’t know the information that the others on this forum are privy to, but I work with the IDF on a daily basis and I don’t know very much about the factors that go into the decisions made. I’m surprised that so many are so critical when there is so much information that is not made public. This is obviously not a simple conflict and defeating Hamas is not an easy task. They look like civilians and are spread out throughout the strip. And even if defeating Hamas was achievable, who would replace them? How many soldiers would you sacrifice? These are not easy questions.
It’s easy to criticize, but I wonder how all the complainers would do if they were prime minister. I personally have a different approach to the conflict, but I am not sure if I’m right and would never accept that position.
True, there may be many opinions but none will say a pig is kosher. Unfortunately, you’ll get a lot of pork from everywhere else.
